Numero Uno

December 10th, 2008 at 08:32 pm

Well this is number one.
I guess its custom for a little history.
I left home at 14 and was a rotten little kid.
I had no concept of money, budgets of savings and as such by the time I was 21 I was $45 000.00 in the red.
There was a point I reached where I remember thinking it had to change.
Thus began my education. I read every book I could get my hands on.
Out of every book I found the greatest to be "Richest Man in Babylon".
This was the book that changed it all for me.
Now 23 I am only $10 000.00 in the red and have been able to afford to live abroad for 6 months without income.

My main job is I am mechanical Fitter/welder. However, in the next year I plan to change careers first to a book keeper then an accountant. Time line for this is hopefully CA by 30/31.
While this happens I will be paying down my debt from end of march until december of 09.
I will have no income until march 09 because I have eloped to Vancouver, Canada.
We wont be returning until march.
Until then we are both living off our savings.
I'm enjoying this time to plan the future and lay out where I would like to go and end up.
I have my own veiw of personal finance that swings against the norm and often brings on heated debate.
